Boundaries at Bankfoot is an afternoon gathering set against the evocative backdrop of the historic Bankfoot House under Mt Tibrogargan – a site layered with stories of settlement, displacement and resilience – inviting audiences into a space of reflection and dialogue.
This event explores the physical, cultural and political boundaries that have shaped shared histories and continue to influence identity and relationship with Country today.
Through spoken word, song and theatre, First Nations voices lead the way, presenting excerpts of new Blak works created by emerging creatives living on Gubbi Gubbi and Jinibara Country. These staged readings are the culmination of six months of writing masterclasses and collaborative workshops led by dramaturg Lara Croydon and curated by Munimba-Ja.
Audiences will witness stories in development – raw, powerful and deeply connected to place – and engage with living histories that challenge, heal and inspire. It is an evening to listen deeply, honour resilience and celebrate the creativity and cultural continuity of First Nations peoples.
