Peachester History Committee presents the _Inigo Jones Collection_ - celebrating the life of Inigo Jones, Weather Wizard. Inigo Jones (1872-1954) was born in Croydon, England, and migrated to Queensland in 1874. Inigo moved to Peachester with his parents in 1892, settling on a property they called Crohamhurst. He brought with him a set of weather instruments, and on 2 February 1893 Inigo measured the record rainfall for Australia which still stands, 35.71 inches (907mm) in 24 hours.

Inigo’s wife Marion Emma Comrie, whom he married at Crohamhurst on 11 January 1905 – Peachester History Committee Inc.
Inigo’s desk set: base stand, ink wells, nib pen, quill brush, letter opener and visiting cards. The Jones family were actively involved in the community, and produced printed Christmas Greetings for their friends. After his death, Inigo was described as a friend and counsellor to the neighbourhood farmers and people of all classes and creeds – Peachester History Committee Inc.
