The Night Sky exhibition

Our shared darkness | 2 Oct – 19 Feb 2027 | Landsborough Museum

The Night Sky exhibition
Dr Ken Wishaw

The Night Sky invites visitors to explore the important role darkness plays in our lives and the natural world. As artificial light increasingly brightens our nights, this exhibition reveals how light pollution affects wildlife, ecosystems and our ancient connection to the night.

Explore the science behind our diminishing nightscapes, learn about the global Dark Skies movement and the Sunshine Coast's new Dark Sky Reserve in the hinterland. Through interactive displays and local stories, The Night Sky encourages us all to look up, switch off and be conscious of the dark.

Visitors will leave with practical ideas to reduce light pollution and help protect the wonder of the night sky for future generations.
