Embark on a journey of discovery these school holidays at Landsborough Museum and Bankfoot House. From native bees and pioneer crafts to night sky storytelling and hands-on activities, there's something to spark curiosity and imagination in visitors of all ages.
Build a bee hotel
Buzz into Bankfoot House for a bee hotel workshop! Join native bee educator Ian Driver from A Green Soul Native Bees to discover the fascinating world of native bees.
Learn why these tiny pollinators are so important and how to attract them into your garden with plants and insect hotels. You will also see a stingless bee hive split, get to taste their amazing honey, and build your very own bee hotel to take home.

Puppet storytime: tales of the night sky
Enjoy stories brought to life through hand puppets in this fun and interactive storytime. Children will be captivated as tales of stars, nocturnal animals and the wonders of the night sky come to life, sparking imagination, curiosity and a love of storytelling.

Make a sky mobile
Create your own sky mobile and let your imagination soar. Drop in and make a unique hanging mobile featuring stars, planets, moons, comets and other celestial objects inspired by The Night Sky exhibition. Take home your own piece of the universe.
Be among the first to explore The Night Sky exhibition and see the night sky through fresh eyes. Join us for the official exhibition launch at Landsborough Museum. Morning tea provided.

Designed for curious children and families, this free take-home resource is packed with fun activities, puzzles and challenges inspired by the wonders of the universe. A perfect way to explore, learn and imagine while getting excited for the upcoming exhibition.
Free. All ages. Available during open hours. No registration required.
Bankfoot House crafts and games
Step back in time these school holidays at Bankfoot House and discover how pioneer children made their own fun. With few store-bought toys, they used creativity and everyday materials to invent games and activities.
Join us for a hands-on experience creating your own dolly pegs and paper flowers, then try your hand at a selection of traditional pioneer games enjoyed by children more than a century ago. Perfect for all ages, this relaxed and welcoming activity offers a fun glimpse into the past. Tea and coffee provided.
