GATHAA NAIDOC Next Gen Market
Showcasing Young Blak Deadly Talent | Sat 9 Aug | Bankfoot House
The GATHAA NAIDOC Next Gen Market is a youth-focused, mob-led event designed to celebrate and elevate First Nations young people — our jarjums, teens, and in-betweens — as they step up to share culture, creativity, and identity on their own terms.
Held at Bankfoot House on beautiful Jinibara and Gubbi Gubbi County as part of NAIDOC Week, the market is proudly led by First Nations creators and created for everyone. It’s a space where young people can take the lead through dance, storytelling, art, bushfoods, and enterprise supported by mentors, elders, and community.
We’re actively encouraging young and emerging First Nations entrepreneurs to run their own market stalls, sell their creations, and gain experience in leadership, culture, and business. From cultural arts and jewellery making to live music, dance workshops, traditional games, and bush tucker experiences — the program offers something for all ages.
While the event is proudly First Nations-led, it is open to the wider community to come, learn, celebrate, and connect. It’s a chance for everyone to walk alongside the next generation, embracing truth-telling, cultural pride, and shared futures together.
