Allocation of revenue collected
Council demonstrates its commitment to supporting arts and cultural heritage outcomes through the collection of the Levy, recognising the important role that both sectors and industries play in shaping and influencing our sense of community, belonging, cultural vitality and identity in a time of unprecedented growth and change.
Revenue collected from the Levy is allocated towards the Heritage & Art Levy Programs developed in alignment with their relevant strategies and priorities.
The revenue collected for the Heritage Levy Program budget is aligned to and allocated across the Themes of the Sunshine Coast Heritage Plan 2021 - 2031.

| Knowledge Research and accessibility projects | Research, digitisation, and online accessibility projects, includes: Historian in Residence, and partnerships with community museums, historical societies and the Heritage Library. | $15,000 |
| Conservation Managing heritage places and collections | Funding includes: operational costs, exhibitions, programming, activation, and conservation of the collections and facilities at Bankfoot House and Landsborough Museum; expert advice to the community in the conservation of heritage listed places (community or privately owned). | $285,000 |
| Support Heritage grants, funding and partnerships | Supporting events, sector development, funding and partnerships for key regional heritage initiatives and organisations (17 regional community museums and heritage groups). Includes the following grants: Cultural Support Programs, Events and Exhibitions Program, Collections Care Program, Community Partnership Funding Program. | $233,260 |
| Communication Heritage tourism and trails | Includes: regional Discovery Guide to promote all community museums; associated advertising for heritage organisations and events; development of new interpretive trails, signage and digital stories; University of the Sunshine Coast sponsorship for an annual Cultural Heritage Prize for students. | $63,020 |
| Advocacy Advocacy and Management | Costs associated with resourcing Levy delivery requirements; supports 5.6 FTE Council Resolution (SM11/35); (OM21/113); and staff advise and support the region’s community museums. | $620,500 |
