Brian Rough examined Sunshine Coast’s civic response to war and the role of local government during World War Two, exploring how the decisions and actions taken shaped the Sunshine Coast. His research also examined the strategic importance of the Sunshine Coast in 1942 in the defence of South-East Queensland, and Sunshine Coast’s community organisations and social cohesion during World War Two.
