Tiny space? It's enough for an edible garden

If you have a courtyard, balcony or kitchen window, this is your chance to create an edible garden on a budget with know-how from a local expert.

Sunshine Coast gardening guru and presenter Anne Gibson of The Micro Gardener will host a fun filled workshop to teach anyone how to design a low cost, small space food garden with fresh ingredients. 

As part of the Living Lab @ The MET series of workshops, Anne will inspire, guide and equip you with all the skills and knowledge you need before a tasty kitchen garden morning tea.

Participants will learn about the rapidly growing trend of micro gardening, with design ideas and techniques perfect for balconies, courtyards and medium density apartment living.

Learnings from the workshop will include:

• A variety of containers and systems used to grow tasty and nutrient-rich food with minimal space and time requirements. 
• The best herbs, fruits and vegetables for small spaces and what to plant when.
• How best to prepare soil, sow seeds/cuttings and fertilise to get the best results. Get inspired to grow your own low cost, edible mini-garden.

The workshop will be a hands-on activity and participants will receive seasonal plant material to take home.

Robyn Cook will host a kitchen garden morning tea so you can sample seasonal flavours with a cup of tea (including freshly brewed garden herb teas) and meet new people with similar interests.
