Got skills? Share them with your community

Do you have a passion for sharing your knowledge and experience through engaging workshops? Sunshine Coast Libraries are putting out a call for local presenters to participate in their dynamic Lifelong Learning program.

Applications are welcome from individuals, community groups, organisations, artists and educators with preference given to applicants who live in the Sunshine Coast local government area.

Workshops cover a wide range of topics, from sustainable living with natural remedies, composting, and worm farms, to creative endeavors like handmade cards, intro to guitar and more. Last year, Sunshine Coast Libraries hosted over 2200 programs, events and workshops to 114,000 attendees.

Sunshine Coast Libraries Programs and Marketing Officer Jennifer Thompson has redeveloped the program to deliver contemporary hands-on workshops.

“We’re looking for fun, fresh, hands-on experiences for our community,” Ms Thompson said.

“The workshops give our customers an opportunity to tap in and test new things. Whether it’s a group guitar session, creating wildflower lanterns or helping to make a giant art installation coat – there is something exciting in the program.”

These 90-minute sessions are held across the region and are aimed at participants aged 16 and older. They offer presenters a fantastic opportunity to connect with new audiences.

If you're ready to inspire and educate, submit an expression of interest via the Libraries website.
