Glasshouse History Group Inc, formerly known as the Friends of Bankfoot House, has expanded their objective to more broadly promote interest in the history of the Glasshouse Mountains district from early settlement to the present.

Publications

The Friends of Bankfoot House have compiled a booklet entitled ‘Bankfoot House - a journey through time'. The booklet contains many photos from the Bankfoot House Collection and traces the history of the Grigor, Burgess and Ferris families through their 135 year association with the heritage-listed house.

Jack Ferris - "I was born with a bull whip in one hand and an axe in the other"

The Friends of Bankfoot House Inc. have launched their second book, a biography on Jack Ferris. Jack, a bullocky from the age of 14, was the last resident of Bankfoot House in the Glasshouse Mountains. He died at the age 101 in 2002 and although awarded a Centenary of Federation Medal he sadly did not live to receive it.

The third book compiled by the Friends of Bankfoot House was officially launched by the Governor of Queensland, the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC on October 14, 2018 during the Sesquicentenary celebrations at Bankfoot House. This book traces the history of the Gympie Road and its relationship to Bankfoot House.
