Who are you? | Celebrate Harmony Week

Find out how to trace your ancestral heritage and understand where you belong in a diverse community.

There are usually gaps in knowledge about our family backgrounds. These may be because of family secrets, lost information, or simply that no-one has asked the pertinent questions and tried to find the answers.

You may want to know how your family came to be here; the name of an unknown ancestor; why particular values or characteristics have been passed down; what part your ancestors have played in the large events of history; or even what your DNA says about you and your ancestral origins. Whatever your reasons for researching your family history, be prepared for surprises. The one thing you can depend on is that the unexpected will turn up, because each of our stories is unique. Genealogy is for all ages - the younger you start, the more ancestors you have available to talk to.

This informative and practical session will help celebrate the diversity in all of us and our community.
