Everyone is invited to the free film premiere celebrating our local Sunshine Coast aquatic sport hero’s, from grassroots to glory. Meet the film producer Chris Peckham and the stars who share their memories. The film includes never before seen historic photos, 8mm films and video of the Sunshine Coast.

The film includes interviews with:

Ian Grant and Greg Rogerson - Waterskiing Club

1983 National Championships at Eudlo Creek and waterskiing at the Cod Hole.

Melanie Schlanger - Swimming

From the Sunshine Coast to Olympic gold.

Sherwell Family - Waterpolo/Nambour swimming pool

Dawn and Russell Sherwell share memories of their family teaching children how to swim, as well as waterpolo success.

Arthur Parkyn - Surf Life Saving/Swimming 

Del Parkyn speaks about her husband and the early days of lifesaving and swimming on the Coast plus our remarkable connections with Hawaii.

Terry Allen - Diving/Canoeing

Hear Geoff Glanvile's recollections of his 'Uncle Terry's' underwater adventures, stories of homemade diving equipment, and exploring Old Woman island.

Afterwards, enjoy the Grassroots to Glory museum exhibition and learn more about our local aquatic sport history.

The film is an initiative of the Sunshine Coast Council Arts and Heritage Levy.
