Museum exhibitions

Across the Sunshine Coast, council and community museums are celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with a series of displays throughout June.

Landsborough Museum 
A charming display of items from the collection, highlighting the crowning of Queen Elizabeth II. The exhibit includes a stool used by the Nicklin family at the 1953 coronation.

Bankfoot House Heritage Precinct
A display of the families memorabilia celebrating the Queen’s 70-year reign. Including A Queen is Crowned souvenir booklet published for the coronation.

Nambour Museum 
See the display of some of the finest printed crockery that was produced for the Coronation of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth 11 on 2 June 1953.

Yandina Historic House and Museum
A fascinating display of items from commemorative cups to an official booklet on the Queen’s first Australian tour in 1952.

Heritage Library
Display includes a Letter from Queen for Lorna Croft 100 years and an album of Prince Charles and Lady Diana's visit from 1983 (Robinson Studios). You will also see images of the Royal Yacht Britannia, Queen Elizabeth II with Lord Mayor of Brisbane, March 1963, Sir Thomas Alfred Highly with Queen Elizabeth II at Brisbane Cricket Ground 1963 and relevant newspaper articles.
