A Maroochy River boat shed, the 1939 Rustic Cabin refreshment stop, Elston Guest House in Montville and the Moffat Beach Overland Cabins are just some of the iconic images making an appearance in the Architecture: Past and present 2019 cultural heritage calendar.
The 2019 heritage calendar showcases a mixture of both old and contemporary architecturally diverse, well-designed and historic buildings across the Sunshine Coast.
From the 1910s to 2018, the calendar takes you on a wonderful journey from the past to the modern day highlighting the changing styles of architecture that shape the region.
This year, photos have been drawn from the private collections of six locals - winners of the heritage calendar photo competition - and council’s own Picture Sunshine Coast collection, which can be accessed by the community via Sunshine Coast Libraries.
Congratulations to the competition winners – Morris Weyer, Roger Harrison, Nadia Matkovic, Ann Bryan, Wendy Birrell and Jemma Pollari.
Copies of the calendar are available for purchase from council’s library branches for the reduced price of $3.
The annual Sunshine Coast Council Heritage Calendar is produced to celebrate and showcase the unique cultural heritage of our region. It is proudly supported by council’s Cultural Heritage Levy.
